This tutorial explores the light path and filtration in reflected fluorescence microscopy. The sliders and inside/outside button control the tutorial operation. Microscope diaphragms are operated by the Aperture Diaphragm and Field Diaphragm sliders, which allow control over the iris apertures located in the episcopic illuminator. A fluorescence cube is located in the head of the microscope and has a slider that controls the filter excitation and emission wavelengths. Adjusting this slider produces corresponding changes in the wavelength of excitation and emission light, and these changes reflect new colors of filtered light in the optical pathways. The outside/inside button toggles between external and cut-away internal views of the microscope.
